Another one in the books with only the fall final left. Was chasing the handling through
the practices and heat races with a final spring change right before the race I wasn't exactly sure how the car would handle.
Started outside pole and for the first 6 laps the car was handling great. But as I suspected it went to tight. A lil looser
on the start would have nailed the handling for the race. Oh well I relenquished the lead and we had a caution so I was starting
outside the pole again. Couldn't take the lead this time and fell a few spots being on the outside and then a car spun
in turn 4 a the car in front of me spun to avoid and I got collected with him. Luckily we were spinning after the yellow flag
came out and were given our spots back. Started 5th on the restart and with only a couple laps to go and was holding the position.
Then on the last lap for reasons unknown to me coming out of turn 2 the car behind me
decides do something that was not adventagous to anyone. I was kind of expecting a tap or bump and run and to tell ya the
truth I would have been fine with that. A 6th place would have worked for me as tight as the car was. What I wasn't expecting
was the car to hit the left rear so hard, not only did I lose traction but it sent me almost sideways. To further complicate
things they didn't let off the gas and continued to push me and at the entire time there was nothing I could do as I was being
pushed, steering the front wheels didn't so anything. Then I heard the Left rear go down and knew my race was over with just
a half lap to go. So I did what any racer would have done in that situation...
Now I'm not stupid, I don't think the "intention" of the other driver was to take me out. But
he obviously didn't give a crap if he did. So they shouldn't be surprised that I had the same feelings. If they had just let
off the gas for a split second after they hit my quarter, they would have gotten around me and none of this would have been
an issue. I wasn't blocking, I gave them enough room on the bottom to make the pass where he would have had me in turn 3 and
4.
It is what it is and now we are both outside the top ten in points with one race to go..
On another note, I guess one of the front runners was caught with a modified plate..
