Gave it all I had but apparently the motor just didn't have enough for the entire race. I figured I was starting out front so I set my car up loose in hopes that I didn't get stuck on the outside too long and try to take down that win. Started outside pole on the start and got around to lead the first lap then caution came out around lap 4. We restarted and got out fron again did a few more laps and kaboom down the front stretch, sent a rod through the pan. Not exactly sure why, the motor was never overheated and had great oil pressure with no vibrations. Guess we'll figure it out when we take it apart.... Oh well, at least I went out with a bang. On the bright side it happened at the end of the season and I didn't hit the wall when it happened as I was heading straight for it...
Another funny thing is I let the 21 borrow my right front spindle, hub and lower control arm for the shootout. When we got it appart he noticed my RF shock was dead.. Hmm, might explain some of my handling issues as of late..lol

Also was out in turn 4 with my wife and baby watchin some racing action after our race. Was watching the SK's when they plowed into the turn 4 wall and not less than 15 feet from us a spectator got struck with a very large bar that came off the car.. Not sure if it went over or through the fence but it was pretty bad with blood all over the place.. He was an older gentleman and was able to walk down the steps to the stretcher so I suspect he will be OK, but what a scary site.

Have a great Off-Season everyone! See ya in the spring!
