So, I've chosen some races for the summer. I might take out the June 4th one because I'm a wimp and I think
it'll be awfully cold to swim in a northern NH lake at that time of the year. I do have a wetsuit, but I still have
a delicate constitution. :-) I'm also planning some mini vacations with my races. In July, I'll be going
back to my old college stomping grounds with my sister for a long weekend, and in August Josh and I are hoping to go to Block
Island for a weekend jaunt. I've never been to Block Island. It's part of the state of Rhode Island, but it isn't
nearly as famous as it's Massachusetts counterparts Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard. It should be fun. I may also
try for the Lobsterman triathlon in Freeport in Sept for another getaway. Of course, somewhere in there I need to spend
some time with Joshua, have some R&R, work, and sleep sometimes too.
This is my page on our website and will be devoted to doing things in excess. Too much exercising, too much drinking,
too much news and politics consumption and not enough sleep.
As you can see I'm making pretty good progress on the exercise side of things. I ran my first half marathon earlier
this year and it was a resounding success. It was cold and wet, but I finished with a pretty good time, and I didn't
stop and walk once! I also did that little 5 miler just for the hell of it. Funny thing is I don't even like running.
I've only picked out a couple of triathlons so far for the year. This schedule is definitely subject to change.
I hope to add one in June, 1 more in July, 2 for Aug, and 1 for Sept. That might be too many though.
Stay tuned for further updates!
