Object: Upper portion of Lyra

Constellation: Lyra

Instrument: 9x63 Meade Travelview Binoculars 5.8° field of view

Power: 9x

Description:

Upper portion of Lyra, including Vega (Alpha), the double-double Epsilon (only two stars visible in binoculars), the non-split double Zeta, and the contrasting-color double Delta. Light pollution and haze (and a waxing gibbous moon) made transparency low—epsilon was just barely visible (but not split) with the unaided eye with averted vision, and then only for a moment here and there.
