Pepsi Machine

Bought locally

I found this machine while looking at a Fire! pinball machine. The guy that had this machine wanted to show off his collection of various coin-op machines and this was deep in his basement under a blanket.

This old girl sat unused for at least three years. When we went to look at her she fired right up and got cold fast. We decided to take her home and tinker with her.

The first thing I did was take her apart and change some bulbs. I also had to wire up a light for the sign, this model didn't come with a light there. I used a regular type light socket, wired it up to the machine and stuck in a 15w bulb.

We put some cans of pop in. This machine is so old the labels include Pepsi, Pepsi Free, Sunkist Orange, Team and Hires Root beer. We couldn't fine Pepsi Free, Team or Hires so we replaced them with Caffeine Free Diet Pepsi, Sierra Mist and Barq's Root beer respectively.

It turns out that the coin mech still works (even gives change) and you are required to put money in to get regular Pepsi or Barq's. All the other pop is free. The front of the machine tells you the cost is $.45 you really have to deposit $.50.

Here's a couple of pictures of the refrigeration unit. Why? I don't know.
