Jim Johnson has been maintaining the Marlboro Trail on Monadnock since 2001
out of a concern to keep erosion in check and to improve what he considers to be the best of the main trails to the summit.
He also volunteers as a trail adopter for the AMC. An avid hiker, Jim completed the New Hampshire four-thousand-footers years
ago and has hiked every trail on Monadnock and in every kind of weather imaginable. He especially enjoys climbing the mountain
in unusual weather conditions.
"The only things that will stop me from climbing are
a thunder storm or a strong, cold wind"
