Traditions Records has long been known to folk music scholars as America's premier folk music label.
The artists that recorded for the label in the 50's and 60's played a pivotal role in shaping our country's musical heritage
and provided the blueprint for today's singer / songwriters. With a roster that boasted the likes of Woody Guthrie, Odetta,
Leadbelly, The Clancy Brothers and Lightnin' Hopkins, to name a few, and an eclectic assortment of folk music from around
the world, Tradition was the forbearer of roots and world music movements. While Pete Fountain never recorded for Tradition,
they managed to cash in and have two CD compilations.
