• Use, possession, sale or being under the influence or
illegal drugs misuse of prescription drugs and, or alcohol is not permitted.
• Only qualified and trained Staff may work on or near
exposed energized electrical parts or electrical equipment.Only the contracted electrician personnel are permitted to work
on electrical distribution at any event. In case of emergency contact management and the electrician assigned. Follow
Electrical Safety Rules when working with electrically powered machinery and equipment.
• Only authorized and trained Staff may dispense or use
chemicals. It is your responsibility to know where Material Safety Data Sheets from the chemical manufacturers are located
and that they are available for your use and review.
• All Staff should perform only the tasks they have received
training in. This may include but not be limited to the use of powered equipment, use of electrical devices or dealing with
hazardous materials,
• Keep work areas clean. Do not block emergency equipment
or exits.
• Items in storage (on racks or otherwise) should be kept
free of heat sources and ignition sources.
• Wear and use the prescribed personal protective equipment
(PPE). If you are uncertain what PPE may apply to your position ask your supervisor. Stagehands at any event must wear
proper footwear.
• Power tools should be used only in compliance with manufacturer’s
recommendations. All guards and protective devices must be intact and installed on the tool during use. All electrical safety
devices such as ground prongs and insulation must be in place.
• Extension cords must be free of damage, run from a grounded
supply and have a ground prong in place. Damaged cords should be disposed of and not patched. Temporary power beyond
simple extension cord use, must be run and installed by the electrician.
• When working in hot temperatures be sure to wear appropriate
light weight, light colored, loose fitting clothing. Please utilize the water and shade provided. If you or a co-worker
experience heat related symptoms seek immediate relief and report the occurrence to the on site medical staff and management
for emergency care.
• Smoking is permitted only in the designated “Smoking
Areas”.
• Use seat belts when on company business in any vehicles.
• Unless certified via OSHA compliant methods, Staff shall
not operate a forklift, or operate any other mechanical equipment. To the extent a forklift, or any other mechanical equipment,
or ladders is owned by and intended to be operated by an independent contactor, Staff will not operate the equipment. In such
cases, operation of this equipment is the responsibility of the independent contractor or vendor and these individuals will
determine the means and methods of doing the job.
• Forklift operations must be conducted in compliance
with OSHA standards and best practices. All fork lift operators on site have be certified via OSHA compliant methods. All
the best practices prescribed in that training will be utilized. If noted operating a lift in an unsafe manner an operator may
be released from duty at any event.
AT NO TIME SHOULD A PASSENGER BE CARRIED ON A FORKLIFT. WHETHER ON THE SEAT ,OR CAB
AREA OR, ON THE FORKS OR ,MAST OR IN ANY BASKET DEVICE ON THE FORKS. Daily inspections will be performed and recorded prior
to use of the lift each day.
• Scissors lifts can be dangerous is operated incorrectly. Be sure to follow the
manufacturer’s instructions. Always tie off when in the elevated position. Only manufacturer tie off points may be utilized
for lanyard or yo-yo attachment points. If you do not feel comfortable with the fall arrest equipment or have not been trained
in its use contact your supervisor for instructions. Never drive a scissors lift onto a stage or platform that will not support
its weight. If you are uncertain of the weight rating of the stages ask your supervisor. Event staff should not perform maintenance
or take the caps off of the batteries at any point.
• Boom lifts require tie off when in the basket. Only
the manufacturer’s tie off points may be utilized to anchor a yo-yo or lanyard. You must follow proper operating procedures
and have had training to operate a boom lift. You must never approach overhead power lines with this equipment.
• Mules / Golf Carts: All manufacturer recommendations
and warnings regarding operation, capacity and safety)precautions shall be strictly followed Operation of tie Mules / golf
carts shall be limited to those individuals that have been trained on proper use of this equipment. The Mules / golf carts
are not licensed/registered to be used or public highways and shall be restricted to the assigned venue and its surrounding
area. Operators shall be aware all traffic signs and shall use caution When crossing any public roadways,pedestrian crossings,interior
areas of the venue. Riding on the cart is limited to the person operating it and the number of seats provided by the manufacturer.
All parts of the body shall remain within the cart when in motion. Where seat belts are present ,you must use them. The Mule
/ golf cart should not be left unattended unless the Mule / cart is parked via manufacturer’s instructions and the parking
brakes are set. In addition, the key should be removed from the ignition,when
the operator is not in the driver’s seat. Do not overload the Mules / golf carts. When and where possible choose pathways
that will take you away from pedestrian traffic. Stay away from drop offs and edges.
• Fall protection will be utilized wherever and when ever
work is conducted from elevations six feet or more above the ground. Proper tie off points will be utilized along with
harnesses and lanyards appropriate for the work you are doing and which will prevent contact with the ground or other objects
in the case of a fall arrest.If you have not been trained in the proper use of fall protection equipment please see your supervisor.
• Ladders will be used in accordance with manufacturer’s
guidelines and within best practices for safety. Be sure to conduct an inspection of the ladder prior to use.
• Guidelines for rest periods, meal breaks and between
shift breaks are to be adhered to and honored.
• Staff shall not accept rides or lifts on mechanical
equipment.
