ELIGIBILITY. You must be a member of the National Rifle Association
to participate in these matches. If membership cannot be proven prior to the
end of the match, then eligibility for awards will be withdrawn. Participation
in the Invitational Match will be by invitation only. Invitations will be extended
only to the overall winners and to the classification winners of the previous 6 Fairfax Rod & Gun Club matches.
LOCATION. The Fairfax Rod & Gun Club is located at 7039 Signal Hill Road, Manassas VA 20111-4212.
RANGE. Firing line is concrete, covered, with a loud speaker
system and turning targets at the 25-yard line. The range has 25 firing positions. A portable restroom is located behind the range.
Food and refreshments are available at the club house dining facility. An
opportunity will be given to preorder lunch during the match so as to allow it being ready at the club house during the lunch
break.
Registration. 8:00 to 8:45AM. Shooters to the line at 9: 00 AM. No one may enter an aggregate
after the first shot of that aggregate has been fired.
Advanced registration/reservations are requested. Anyone
who reserves a position and does not show AND did not provide notification via email or telephone will be required to pre-register (pay) in advance
for any future match. If prior notification is not possible, then notification
must be provided as soon as possible after the fact. Advanced registration and

Send payment (check/money
order/NRA points) to Chuck Nothom, 8633 Langport Drive, Springfield, VA. 22152. Make checks or money orders payable to Fairfax Rod & Gun Club. If you have fired in a match during the past 2 years, you do not need to submit or fill out a SR-1, but must confirm
the information in our database.
You may reserve a firing position in advance for any match of the 2008 season with
the exception of the October Invitational.
Entry Fees
- March, April, May, and August NRA Registered:
- $35.00 for three guns
- $30.00 for two guns
- $25.00 for one gun
- Virginia State Outdoor Pistol Championship, June 21 & 22, and
Fairfax Rod & Gun Regional Championship, September 27 & 28:
- Match - $50.00
- 3 guns only
- Distinguished Revolver,
CMP EIC, and team match fees included
- Team Matches: A minimum of 4 teams must be submitted to the Match Coordinator prior
to the beginning of the Saturday relay. Team match scores will be those
of the National Match Courses of the 2700 aggregate.
- Fairfax Rod & Gun Invitational Tournament, October 12, 2008:
- Match - $45.00 (3 guns
only)
- Open to only those competitors
specifically invited. The overall winner and classification winners of each of
the previous 6 Fairfax matches will be extended invitations.
An alternates list will be established which will include those placing immediately below the winners.
Awards and Categories.
- NRA Registered Tournaments: Awards will
be in cash, check, or NRA points. Tournament results will be emailed
and placed on the web site on Sunday evening or Monday morning following each tournament.
Match bulletins, awards, and certificates will be mailed by Wednesday following each tournament.
- Cash awards will normally be given for each 5 shooters in a classification.
- Classifications will be combined per NRA rules for all matches when deemed necessary
for awards.
- Virginia State
Outdoor Championship: Same as for the Registered Tournaments plus trophies for
the 3 top finishers provided by VSSA.
- Regional Championship: Same as for the
Registered Tournaments plus the NRA will provide medallions for the top 3 finishers as well as a souvenir pin for all participants.
- Invitational: Cash awards will be given only to the overall winner and to the high
shooter in the HM, MA, EX, SS, and MK classifications.
- All shooters in all matches will receive a certificate showing participation and total
score for the match.
- Recognition will be given for the following categories IF there are 5 or more shooters:

Women Junior
Match Officials.

Scoring plugs will only be used by match officials.
NOTES.
- All aspects of the match
will be governed by current NRA Pistol Rules
- All events will be squadded
- Challenge fee is $1.00.
If a challenge is sustained, then the fee will be refunded.
- No new entries for an aggregate
match will be permitted after the first shot in the aggregate is fired.
- The jury system will be
used.
- 2700, or three-gun, shooters
will have priority in firing position assignments even after all positions have been reserved.

- .45 Caliber Aggregate (2
x SF @ 50 yards, NMC, and 2 x TF & RF @ 25 yards) (90 shots)
- Distinguished Revolver
Match (1 SF @ 50 yards and 1 each TF & RF @ 25 yards) (30 shots). Relays as required.
- EIC Pistol Match (1 SF
@ 50 yards and 1 each TF & RF @ 25 yards) (30 shots). Relays as required.
TARGETS. Targets for all matches will be B-6 at the 50-yard line and B-8 at the 25-yard line.
Miscellaneous.
- Eye and hearing protection are required for all people participating in the match and for
visitors and spectators in the proximity of the range at anytime during the conduct of the matches.
- During the hot months, ice water will be available in a large thermos type cooler. Shooters are requested to be aware of the forecast and to prepare and dress properly
to avoid physical or medical problems.
- Anyone believed to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not be allowed to participate
and will be asked to leave.
- Obey all speed-limit signs on club property.
Drive carefully
– the road to the range is one-lane with occasional areas to pull over to allow the oncoming vehicle to continue. Please drive with care and courtesy.
All shooters must use empty chamber indicators to allow easy identification of cleared and safe weapons by range officials. They will be provided if needed.

We provide an outstanding range that is exceptionally well maintained.
We provide immediate feedback of the results of each match, normally the
same day as the match or last relay via email and the web. Match bulletins, certificates and awards will normally be mailed
by the Wednesday following the match.
We provide cash awards and visible recognition of achievement in the form
of a certificate.
We provide water during the hot months, decaf coffee during the cooler months, and pastries.
We take every reasonable precaution to provide a safe and enjoyable shooting environment.
