	The Virginia 2010 Uniform Power of Attorney Act On July 1, 2010, new rules became effective for virtually all powers of attorney in Virginia whenever executed. If specifically authorized, special rules apply to gifts, trusts and acceptance of these instruments, or copies thereof (potentially including electronically signed copies), at least when acknowledged, with liability for failure or refusal to do so in certain circumstances.
