Halfmoon Lake is located in both Alton and Barnstead and was formerly known as Crescent
Lake. It is 253 acres and 640 feet above sea level. The Volunteer Lake Assessment Monitoring Program (VLAP) is conducted each
year by George Fitzpatrick, Larry Holt and Bill Duggan. (Thanks Guys!) Depth is 29 feet. Fish species include; largemouth
bass, pickerel, horned pout and white perch.

Halfmoon Lake - Barnstead RSA 270:74-a - No person shall operate a Skicraft
on a Saturday or a Sunday on Halfmoon Lake in Barnstead, effective 12/31/89.
Brindle Pond is located in Barnstead and covers 84-91.5 acres. There is
a public boat launch off of Pineo Road. Average depth is 1.1 feet while maximum depth is 7 feet. Brindle Pond
is at an elevation of 610 feet and it's length is 1.8 mile.
RSA 270:88 - No person shall operate any boat equipped with a petroleum-powered
motor on Brindle Pond in Barnstead.
Locke Lake is 640 feet above sea level. It is fed by
Halfmoon Lake and drained by Webster Stream. It is surrounded by the Locke Lake Association.
