 This is only a patial map of conservation land that includes
the Belknap Mt. Range. The area includes the Hidden Valley Boy Scout Camp, Belknap State Forest, Gunstock Recreation Area
and Mt. Major. All are interconneted by fireroads and well-marked trails. Access Points inculde; 1.- Mt. Major off of Route 11 in Alton 2.- Gunstock Ski Area off Route 11D (?) 3.- Getting in your kayak or canoe and paddling over to the Boy Scout Cove and picking
up the red trail. You can also drive into the camp. They like you to register in the summer when the campers are there. 4.- I recommend parking at the boat ramp off Manning Lake Road and hiking in through
Camp Bell. It's uphill all the way... ...but downhill on the way back! |
