ARTS, COMMUNITY, CULTURAL ORGANIZATIONS
Malden Sketch Group
This is one of the longest-running life drawing groups in the Boston
Area, having met weekly for over 10 years. It meets every Monday
evening 7-9:30 pm at the Oak Grove Community Center on Washington St.
across from the Oak Grove T Station. Artists of all levels of ability
and experience are welcome. There is no instruction and no equipment
provided, only the friendly support and encouragement of other artists.
Artists may come on a regular or drop-in basis. Each artist pays $6 per
week to cover the model's fee.
Thursday Portrait Session: This May, 2007 we have been fortunate enough to begin an additional night of art. We are meeting every Thursday evening at the same time, same place, same cost. At this session a clothed model holds one pose for the whole evening for a portrait. Again, this is a classic exercise for artists of every genre. It's fascinating to see how many different ways a room full of artists will interpret the same face.
