Introduction: The parents of Asher Vaughn are unknown at this time. It is believed that Asher was born in Middletown; however, no positive evidence of that fact is known. His marriage to Charity Stout was recorded in Middlesex County on 9/1/1799. He spent his entire adult life in Dover Township. There is a candidate for his father, but no definitive proof. The estate of a Samuel Vaughn was was probabted in Middlesex County on 8/29/1795. The Adm'x of the estate was Catherine Vaughn with Fellowbondsman, James Johnston (both of Middlexsex County). The inventory of the estate was made by James Johnston and David Williamson.Asher was enumerated in the Census of 1830 as a resident of Dover Twp.
