Episode 4.11 - Casting Sides
Episode 9: "I Know What You Did Last Summer"
Int. Mental Hospital – Anna’s Room – Day
The room is plain but comfy with a bed,
dresser and standard bars on the windows. Dr. Regina Walters sits in a chair across from the bed, Anna’s file in her
hand. Anna rests on the edge of the bed, head cocked like she’s listening to a far away sound.
Dr. Walter’s
asks if Anna knows where she is. Anna tears her attention from whatever she was “listening” to and looks around
at the doctor, then looks down at the hospital ID bracelet on her arm. Dr. Walters informs Anna that she’s at Connor
Beverly Behavioral Medicine Center and inquires as to whether or not Anna remembers what she did.
Anna nods, albeit
reluctantly, and Dr. Walters continues saying that Anna was hysterical and it took four people to restrain her. Anna says
that she was just trying to warn everyone. She tells Dr. Walters to forget it ‘cause its stupid.
Dr. Walters
doesn’t ignore it, instead she questions why Anna was trying to warn them. Anna shakes her head and Dr. Walters waits
patiently for her to answer. Anna finally spills, saying that she gets that Dr. Walters thinks she’s nuts, and hell,
she sounds nuts to herself, but it’s all true. Dr. Walters tells Anna that its okay and she can tell her. That’s
what she’s here for in the first place.
Anna pauses, then tells Dr. Walters that the end is coming—the
apocalypse. Anna’s struggling to hold back her emotions, and Dr. Walter’s nods. It ain’t big news to her
seeing as where she works, and she jots down some notes. Dr. Walter’s asks if Anna means the Bible style apocalypse
and Anna says it has the same bottom line.
Anna tells Dr. Walters that this demon named Lilith is trying to break
the 66 seals to free Lucifer from hell, and Lucifer will bring the apocalypse. Dr. Walters jots down ‘paranoia’,
‘religious fantasies’, and persecutory delusions.
Anna suddenly cocks her head again, listening to the
unheard sound. Her expression becomes distant. Dr. Walters tries to get Anna’s attention and succeeds. Anna snaps out
of it and apologizes. Dr. Walters asks what Anna was doing. Anna responds that she was just listening.
Dr. Walters
jots down some more notes and asks if Anna was saying there are 66 seals in the world. Anna says that no, there are about
6,000 possible Seals. Lilith only has to break 66 and no one knows which 66 she’s going to break. Anna looks out the
window anxiously.
Anna tells Dr. Walters that s why its nearly impossible to stop her. It’s why the angels are
losing, and that’s why everyone is going to die. Dr. Walters pauses and tells Anna she’s going to write her a
prescription.
Int. Church – Attic – Day
A small figure darts behind a bookcase, hiding. Sam whispers
Dean’s name, and Dean gives Sam his attention and Sam jerks his head in the direction of the bookcase. The brother’s
approach the bookcase but a heavy desk hurls across the floor right at them. They barely manage to jump out of the way.
Dean
comments sarcastically on how great it is to have a heavy duty spoon bender in the building. The Winchester brothers share
a glance and set down their weapons. They move cautiously back toward the bookcase.
Sam tells Anna they aren’t
going to hurt her, and Dean interjects that they are here to help. Dean catches sight of a statue coming right at Sam and
shouts out to warn his brother. Sam ducks and the statue flies past and smashes into the wall.
Anna finally speaks
from behind her hiding spot, and asks if its really Sam, Sam Winchester. The boys look up to see Anna standing there, skittish
and wide eyed. Sam gives her a surprised yes and Anna turns to Dean and asks if he’s the Dean. Dean’s confused,
but totally flattered when he says yep, he’s the Dean.
Sam rolls his eyes, but Anna’s face lights up at
Dean’s confirmation. Anna says that Dean’s the one the angels talk about. Anna steps closer, she’s excited
as she states that Dean was in Hell but Castiel pulled him out and some of the angels think that Dean can help save everyone.
Anna looks at Sam and says that some of the angels don’t like Sam at all. She addresses both of them however when she
tells them that the angels talk about them all the time. Anna says she feels like she knows them.
Sam and Dean exchange
a major wow look. Dean disbelievingly states that Anna talks to angels. Anna says no, no way she does. And she really doubts
the angels know that she overhears them ‘cause they talk and sometimes she just hears them in her head.
Dean
asks if she’s hearing it right now and Anna tells him no, but she does a lot and can’t seem to shut it out ‘cause
there’s so many of them. Dean gets it and states that those people locked Anna up for tuning into the Angel Radio. Anna
cant hide the relief from finally being believed.
Sam interjects, asking when the TK and the moving stuff started.
Anna replies that it was right about the time she started hearing the voice, around September 18th. Dean states that’s
the day he got out of hell.
Anna says the first words she heard was Dean Winchester is saved. Dean shoots Sam a look,
not quite able to wrap his head around it all. He asks Sam what he thinks and Sam says its above his pay grade. Dean addresses
Anna and says that at least they all know why the demons wanted her so bad ‘cause if they got a hold of Anna they’d
know what was cooking on the other side.
Anna smiles but then it falters when she remembers and asks if her parents
were okay. Dean and Sam exchange a look, silent so as not to have to disclose the bad news. Anna picks up on it, but doesn’t
get a chance to press the issue because Ruby enters the attic. All business.
Ruby sees Anna and says that’s good,
now they need to go. Anna freaks out by Ruby’s appearance and Sam tells her its okay because Ruby’s here to help.
Int. Abandoned Cabin – Night
Sam and Dean enter, Ruby meeting them. Anna’s on the couch, more composed
than before. Ruby greets them and Sam asks Anna if she’s okay. Anna nods and says that Ruby isn’t like other demons,
she saved her life. Dean comments that he hears she does that.
Ruby throws Dean a quizzical look, and Dean meets it
without a challenge. Dean says that he guesses he owes Ruby for Sam and he can’t quite make out the thank you but Ruby’s
amused anyway and lets Dean off the hook. Sam smiles to himself watching the exchange.
Anna interrupts, and calls for
Sam. Anna asks if Sam thinks itd be okay for her to call her parents to let them know she’s okay because they have to
completely freaked out. Sam finally breaks the news that Anna’s parents are dead. Anna crumbles in grief, demanding
to know why this is happening to her.
Sam tells her that he doesn’t know. Anna’s sobbing and the Winchester
boys don’t know what to do about it. Anna suddenly stops, eyes wide and whispers they’re coming.
Int.
Church – Attic – Day
Sam puts down his shotgun just as the door flies open and an ordinary looking guy
enters. The guy is Alastair. He’s calm and average build, but has a military air about him. He takes his time, enjoying
himself and his eyes go black when he sees Sam.
Sam steps forward, focusing so he can begin his whole pull the demon
out mojo. Alastair’s surprised and pretends to choke, and cough. Alastair smugly tells Sam that it tickles. Sam’s
stunned that he wasn’t able to exorcise the demon.
Alastair’s informs Sam that the Winchester doesn’t
have the ability to take him on. Alastair walks right up to Sam with a smile on his face as he backhands Sam so hard he flings
him into a wall, knocking Sam unconscious. Dean’s gripping the knife, and more than a little freaked when Alastair turns
to him.
Dean gives Ruby a look, but Ruby’s backing away from Alastair, clearly terrified. Alastair calmly approaches
Dean, and Dean charges with the knife. It ain’t nothing but a thing and Alastair easily evades the blow, grabbing Dean’s
arm and twisting it.
Alastair greets Dean with an Hello, again. Dean’s thrown for a loop because this demon knows
him.
Int. Church – Attic – Day
Alastair has Dean pinned to the wall, and is punching Dean in the
face repeatedly. Ruby’s knife is long since forgotten on the floor. Alastair is taunting Dean and asking if Dean recognizes
him. Alastair is eerily bordering friendly as he continues to punch Dean in the gut so hard Dean doubles over. Alastair lands
a solid kick to Dean’s head, and Dean hits the floor, blood spilling from his nose and mouth.
Alastair says that
he forgot he was wearing a pediatrician, as if that explains why Dean can’t recall who he is, and then kick Dean in
the stomach again. Dean spits blood. Alastair comments that he and Dean were so close in Hell.
Painful recognition
spreads across Dean’s face as he finally remembers and states the demon’s name. Alastair smiles and proceeds to
kick Dean so hard he rolls. Alastair is having a good ole time and he continues to advance on Dean.
A gun shot rings
out and rock salt slams right into Alastair’s eyes. He reels back and Sam stands a few feet away, shotgun in hand. Sam
moves fast, grabbing Ruby’s knife off the floor and races to help Dean up.
Ext. Crossroads – Night
Ruby’s
standing in the middle of a desolate crossroads. She takes a hex back from her jacket and uses a lighter to ignite the bag.
She drops the burning bag into the center of the crossroads. Over her shoulder a voice is heard greeting her. Ruby turns and
is met with Alastair.
He walks forward, taking his time. He tells her that he’s surprised to find her out in
the open like this. Ruby informs him its desperate times and Alastair agrees, then questions if Ruby’s gonna try and
use that knife of her’s.
Ruby tells him she’s not stupid enough to try it and she’s unarmed, just
wanted to talk. Alastair asks her rhetorically what about, because a demon protecting and angel totally brings Ruby’s
membership in the demon community up for revoke. Ruby argues that she never wanted to be in the middle of this Angel business,
it’s none of her business.
Alastair asks what she’s proposing and Ruby says that she’ll give her
to Alastair. Alastair asks what she wants in return and Ruby replies that she walks away, her and both the Winchester boys.
Alastair considers Ruby’s suggestion, then tells her that he always heard she was a conniving slut and Ruby
didn’t disappoint. Ruby presses for an answer and Alastair says that its an interesting offer, but he has a counter.
Suddenly,
two big burly demons appear on either side of Ruby, they grab her. Ruby tries to fight them off, but they’ve got a hell
of a grip on her. Alastair approaches Ruby and runs a finger over her lips. He names his own terms, saying that Ruby’s
gonna give him the Angel and he’s gonna kill everyone anyway.
********Additional sides*****
Lou sides: interior
dive bar – pool table- night. Sam, pool cue in hand appears totally wasted. He’s trying to convince his opponent
to give him one more chance to win his money back. The other guy is tough guy sort of person and is pocketing the money he’s
already won off Sam. He’s pretty sure he can get even more off Sam and agrees to another game. Just then Dean shows
up and steps in telling tough guy that Sam’s too drunk to be playing. Sam tells him to shut up – he’s fine
and wants to play. Dean tries to explain to Sammy that’s not really fine, he’s drunk and it’s time to go
home now. Sam just ups his bet t$500. Dean is so not happy. Sam slams down the cash and the cash & looks at Dean –
it’s a con. Sam puts his cash down and breaks. IT’s perfect and the tough guy knows he’s been had. Just
then Sam looks up and sees something at the bar – he’s startled and walks away from the game as he tells the other
guy he can keep the money.
Crossroad Demon sides: (flashback) exterior dirt crossroads – day. Sam has a box
under his arm & kneels in the dirt and digs a hole with his hands. He’s carrying a bottle of whiskey and takes a
drink every once in a while. He’s hit bottom – he’s angry and overwhelmed. He stands up and looks around
waiting for the CRD to appear. Finally he starts screaming for it. Then it appears – this one looks like a lawyer –
and explains it was reluctant to appear given what Sam did to the last one. The demon comments on Sam’s appearance –
saying he doesn’t look so hot – burying Dean didn’t agree with Sam so much. For a second it seems like Sam
might attack him too, but instead he walks over to a picnic table and sits down.
Episode 8: "Wishful Thinking"
Int. Wes’ Apartment – Night
The apartment is small and has that bachelor pad feel
with sparse furniture, juvenile posters, and game systems. Wes is sitting on the recliner in the living room, beer in his
hand. The TV is on quietly, but Wes’ eyes are closed. Hope enters the living room, tray in hand.
She asks if
Wes is sleeping, and Wes says he’s just resting his eyes. Hope tells him she thought he’d like a snack, and Wes
opens his eyes to a roasted chicken complete with garnish. Wes tells Hope she didn’t have to do that, but Hope counters
that she wanted to.
Hope’s expression is cloudy, there’s more to what she’s saying than that. Hope
adds that she had to. With a bright smile, she continues saying because she loves Wes, more than anything. Wes winces and
pats the recliner, asking Hope to sit down for a minute.
Hope obeys, and Wes inquires as to whether Hope is truly happy
or not. Automatically, Hope responds that she loves Wes more than anything. Wes nods, he gets that , but he wants to know
more and returns the I love you, but adds that he wants Hope to start doing some things that make her happy, that made her
happy before.
Hope says she’s try harder and will start right away on that. Wes is frustrated by this point and
tells Hope that’s not what he meant. Hope can’t take the Wes’ unhappiness and she pales, letting out a gasp
of horror. She drops to her knees at Wes’ feet, and desperately begs him not to be angry with her—she’d
just die if he was.
Wes informs Hope that he’s not angry with her. Hope immediately switches gears, and starts
crawling up Wes’ body. She tells Wes to let her make it up to him, let her make it right.
The door bell rings
and Hope gets up to answer it. She returns a second later with Sam and Dean in tow. Wes takes in his visitors with barely
noticeable surprise. Hope chides Wes for not saying he had called the florists for the wedding. Wes can’t contain his
confusion, but Hope ignores it and simply tells her man that he’s the best. She kiss the top of Wes’ head and
jogs off to get her wedding folder. Sam and Dean study the framed coin collection hanging on the living room wall and exchange
a look. Dean asks Wesley how’s it going and Wes tells him that it’s Wes, not Wesley. Then proceeds to say that
he thought the brother’s were from the Health Department.
Sam chimes in that they’re florist, just on the
side. Dean loses his patience and says they’re with the FBI, and on Thursday they’re Teddy Bear doctors. Wes is
totally baffled and Dean says that it doesn’t matter who they are, what matters is that they know.
Wes is confused,
and Sam points out that Wes’ a coin collector. Wes explains that his grandfather left them to him. Sam and Dean sit
on the couch across from Wes, and Dean asks if Wes happened to lose any coins lately. Or maybe not so much lose as drop it
into the wishing well at Lucky Chin’s. Wes says that he doesn’t know what they are talking about.
Hope
returns with a thick file and stack of bookmarked magazines. She sits at Wes’ feet, spreading it all out on the coffee
table. She tells Dean and Sam that she has a lot of ideas, but they don’t have all the money in the world. Hope laughs,
eyes sparkling when she looks at Wes and proudly declares that Wes is between jobs which means more time with her.
Hope
turns her attention back to the folders, turning pages. She tells the Winchester brothers that she’s thinking of
something Japanese or Ikebana. Dean says that yeah, he’s totally seeing it. And Sam locks eyes with Wes, but addresses
the question of how the two people met to Hope.
Hope gushes that it was the best day of her life. She says its the
funniest thing because they both grew up in the same town, went to the same church, same school, and she never really got
to know him, not by name at least until last month. It was like she saw him for the first time, and Wes was glowing.
Wes
squirms as her story continues, and interrupts asking Hope to go get some coffee. Hope jumps up immediately to go retrieve
the coffee, but instead of running to the kitchen right away, she gives Wes a long, drawn out French kiss. Sam and Dean watch
awkwardly. Wes’ words are muffled as he tries to talk through the kiss, and tell Hope to go to the kitchen.
Hope
darts off with her mission and Sam and Dean both level their gazes at Wes. Sam tells Wes that they know, so he might as well
tell them the truth.
Int. Wes’s House – Later
Wes is holding a coin frame in his hands. One coin
is conspicuously missing. Wes informs the Winchesters that his grandfather found the coin in North Africa during World War
II and brought it back with him. Grandpa always told him that it was a real wish granting coin, but that no one could ever
use it. Wes says that his Grandpa was all he had and when he died, Wes thought he’d just give the coin a shot.
Sam
gets up and informs Wes that now he’s gonna just wish it back. Wes tells Sam that no, he’s not. Dean stands up
next to his brother, both boys looming over Wes. Dean warns Wes that if he doesn’t stop this , something bad is gonna
happen to him. Sam interjects that the something bad is like well, them. Wes looks them over, and Dean lifts his jacket, revealing
the gun tucked in his waistband. Dean says that he really wishes Wes would come with them.
Ext. Impala – Night
Sam
and Dean are escorting Wes to the Impala. Wes looks back nervously at his house. He tells the brothers that he can’t
be gone for too long, Hope gets sort of crazy lonely when he’s away. Dean tells him to get moving.
Int. Impala
– Night
Dean’s driving, Sam’s shotgun and Wes is in the back bitching. He argues that so what if
his wish came true, its not a bad thing. Sam points out that Wes’ isn’t the only wish to come true. The well works
for anybody now. Dean chimes in that would be the reason the entire town is going nuts.
Wes asks why, and Dean tells
him that the coin is cursed. Wes counters that the coin works. Sam interrupts and says that the wishes go south, all of them.
Dean asks if Wes would really define his relationship with Hope as functional, what he really wished for.
Wes says
that he wished she’d love him more than anything. Sam asks how Wes thinks that’s going, and if that seems healthly.
Wes counters saying its a hell of a lot better than when she didn’t even know he was alive.
Int. Lucky #1 Chin’s
- Night
Wes approaches Hope with a look of rising horror. Hope brightens as he gets closer to her, ‘cause that’s
all she cares about and all she wants—just to be near her man. Wes asks Hope if she really wished a man dead. Hope replies
that she loves Wes more than anything.
That does it, Wes loses it and demands that Hope stop saying that. Hope breaks,
sobbing, and tells Wes that it’s true, more than anything, and more than life. She begs Wes not to hate her. Hope collapses
in Wes’ arms and he comforts her, but his face is saddened.
Wes tells her that its okay, he’s going to
make it okay. Hope looks up, her eyes full of love and Wes kisses her tenderly. He steps back, and goes to the well, removing
the coin. There’s a low rumble as the cursed magic ebbs away.
Wes turns around and looks back to the beautiful
woman, blinking like she’s waking from a dream. He calls out Hope’s name, but Hope acts like she doesn’t
even know who he is.

-->Rick
pulls out his cell phone, to which John stares at in weired out fascination. Rick asks where he can get reception and John
hesitates before saying the USS Enterprise. Reg approaches with the coffee and Rick thanks him, also comments on Reg’s
outfit joking that Sonny and Cher broke up right?
-->John looks up from his paper, straight-faced,
and asks if it’s true that Sonny and Cher broke up. Then before getting to truly digest the rumor, Mr. Dodds, 40s, yells
out for Winchester. John shakes the Mr. Dodd’s hand. Dodd’s asks how Corporal Winchester’s been doing.
-->Mr.
Dodds says that he heard John just got back and John replies that he’s been back for a while now. Mr. Dodds says he’s
glad to have John home and John agrees saying that makes two of them. Mr. Dodds then gets serious, and comments that he heard
it got pretty rough over there. John returns just as serious that it did, but he’s home now. Mr. Dodds asks what’s
next for John and John says that he’s got some big plans.

-->John
and Mary are sharing a booth, mid-conversation. John says that he should talk to Mary’s dad. Mary disagrees and says
that her Dad is just being a dad, and it’s not John. John asks how it ain’t him and asks if Mary’s dad’s
always been like that. Mary defends saying that her dad is just protective and doesn’t want her to—
-->John
doesn’t let Mary finish that thought and interjects asking if its cause her dad doesn’t want her to hook up with
a mechanic from a family of mechanics. Mary answers with a firm no and says that she loves John for exactly who he is.
XXXXXX
-->Mary
lays on her bed, flipping through a stack of record albums. Jeff knocks on the open door. He tells Mary that he’s shoving
off and just wanted to say goodbye. Mary asks if it really has to be this soon. Jeff says that yeah, he’s got a job
to do, then pauses before going on to say that for what its worth it doesn’t matter what Mary’s dad thinks, he
likes that John guy.
-->Mary’s a little surprised that Jeff thinks so and Jeff says that
yeah, he thinks they are meant for each other and he’s kind of depending on that. Jeff then asks what John is like.
Mary says that John’s sweet even after everything overseas, it didn’t make him bitter, he still believes in that
happy-ever-after stuff. Mary pauses then confesses that she thinks John’s gonna propose soon, maybe even tomorrow. She
says that she doesn’t even care that her dad’s gonna freak out, she’ll run away if she has to ‘cause
she loves John.
-->Jeff asks he can tell Mary something. Mary says sure and Jeff says that even
if its sounds really weird, Mary has to promise to remember. Jeff tells Mary that on November 2, 1983 not to get out of bed.
No matter what, just don’t. Mary takes that in and smiles gently. She tells Jeff that he is a strange one, but there’s
still something she can’t put her finger on.

are inside the car. John is anxious and Mary knows exactly why. John says he guesses its no secret why he brought Mary out
here, and pulls out a ring box. Mary’s eyes widen, its totally the moment she’s dreamed off, but theres a bit
of hesitation. John picks up on it, but tells Mary to just let him get through this.
-->Mary tells
him to wait, and asks what if something happens to John. John takes that in, but opens the box anyways exposing the engagement
ring to Mary. John says that nothing is going to happen to him and he’ll always love Mary.
-->Mary
is moved, but suddenly there’s a banging on Mary’s window and the door swings open. Samuel demands to know why
he was disobeyed, and Mary is clearly upset with her father. Samuel doesn’t seem to care what his daughter thinks and
