How to Make and Use Battlecards

You're just a few steps away from bringing comic-book fun to your Heroclix games...!

Here's what you need to do:
Download them from the home page.
Print them out.
Cut them out.
Start using them in your games

Printing them out

Many people just design them using their favorite drawing program, then print them out on cardstock.

We print ours out on Avery Label paper #8255 (one-sheet label paper).  Then we peel off the back,
affix the label to construction paper,
cut out the cards and
have them laminated at the local copy shop.

Don't have laminate each one individually; lay them out in the laminate sheet with some space between them.  After the lamination is done, you can cut each card out of the finished lamination sheet.

Using them in a Game

  • Keep handy a copy of the separate document that defines what each card does (perhaps one copy for each player so they can refer to them privately).
  • Each person only gets to use one card per game.
  • Before choosing the figures for your forces, each player is dealt three cards from the Battlecards deck at random.
  • Each player should keep one card he prefers and discard the others.
  • Some cards provide direct advantages for usually particular characters; others require more planning to use; choose wisely!
  • If you still hate your card, you can sacrifice a number of build points to "buy" another one (that amount should be previously agreed upon among your group of players).
  • Players should not see one another's Battlecards until it is time to use them.
  • You may show your card to the other players whenever necessary to enjoy its advantages, even if it's not your turn.
  • When you lose, always blame on your or your opponents' Battlecards; you'll feel much better.
