Axel on his sandy playground.
"Axel," our first Vallhund, was whelped by the prestigious Aros Kennel, known for its
painstakingly careful breeding. Indeed, Axel's bloodlines are a "Who's Who" of national and international
champions in Conformation, Agility, and Search-and-Rescue.
A classic male Vallhund, three-year-old Axel is compact and powerfully built
with a wide chest, thick neck and large commanding head. Exhibiting the darkest of the red sable coloration, he
sports a heavy coat accented with cream, white and tan. He was born with a natural bob tail--or no tail.
Fearless and protective, Axel is also a sweetie who enjoys cuddling
with his pack when he's not running the beach at top speed, hiking or camping in the woods, or just playing fetch
in his own backyard.

Like his Swedish and Finnish ancestors, Bevo loves a romp in the snow.
"Bevo," a two-year-old
gray sable male, is the youngest of the Alfsten trio. With a sterling pedigree that includes relatives from the well-known
Hurstfield and Starvon kennels of England, as well as top Scandinavian kennels, Bevo combines strength, athleticism and
alert watchfulness with a playful, laid-back nature.
Though he'll take on any comers--especially older "siblings" like Axel
and Beyla who try to steal his biscuits and bones--Bevo is wonderfully gentle with humans and dogs alike.
Bevo has a docked tail. In addition to cream and tan markings that
complement his gray sable coloration, Bevo sports a narrow white stripe down his face--a racy look to match his incredible
speed.

Winning "Best of Breed" in the Lone Star State
The United Kennel Club's No. 3 Vallhund for 2005, Beyla
is taking time off from the Show Circuit to concentrate on her mate, Axel (left), and the "joys of motherhood."
Born in June 2003 and named after a Scandinavian goddess of cows,
Beyla has a gray sable coat, accented with cream and tan markings, and a docked tail.
Beyla is known for her superb speed and athleticism, and
no picture of her would be complete without a tennis ball in, under or between
her paws.
She also enjoys spirited backyard games of "Vallhund Football," shoving
"the boys" aside to make yet another interception.
As for Agility, let's just say Beyla is frighteningly fearless.
All this beauty, athleticism and boldness is wrapped
up in a winning personality, at turns playful, clownish and deeply intelligent.
No Vallhund "lady" could be more adored--both by her owners and
her male kennel-mates.
