About me & contact information
Preliminary list of issues for the planning process:

Recruitment of additional consultants
--film critics and historians
--historians of Brazil and other "Brasilianistas"
--education specialists
--business adviser
--broadcasters (North America, Europe)
--distributors of videos/DVDs

Development of a practical travel schedule for research and meetings in the US and Brazil to discuss the series, film by film

Format discussions:

--a name that expresses the intentions of the series and that is easily understood and remembered
--a host for the series? (a well-known Brazilian comfortable in North America and Europe who is fluent in English and possibly in French or German). Suggestions: Sonia Braga (actress), João Ubaldo Ribeiro (writer)

--what kind of "bookends" should be produced to provide supplementary information and to fill time slots to broadcast standards?

--careful preparation of sub-titles (potentially in English, French, and German)

Production and Packaging issues:
--time slot differences between North America and Europe
--graphics for show openings/closings and for DVD/VHS sets
--website look and extent of content
--educational materials/study guides (print)
--publicity campaigns (with broadcasters and video distributors)

Business issues:
--Rights questions
For some films, it is clear who controls the relevant rights for broadcast and video distribution; for others, it is unclear. This will require research in Brazil, the US, and Europe.
--Obtaining the best possible master for broadcast use and for duplication in DVD and VHS. For older films, this will require considerable effort.
--Budget development and identification of best sources of funding
