G. Payer, Florence. Italy's only transformation pack
designed by Adolfo Matarelli about about 1850. It's rarity is well documented
as there are only about 6 known copies according to Gene Hochman. The boarders
of the courts are illuminated,
and the pips are transformed into scenes which depict daily life.

This beautiful 53 card Tarok deck is most likely German. I'm not sure where I was lucky enough to acquire it. Any help in a more positive identification and information would be appreciated. MAIL. The coloring is delightfully subtle and the city scenes are are named. The two is designated Heidelberg.
