Dear Storm Parents and Players,
I just wanted to take another moment to thank you all for a great season.
It was a pleasure working with all of you (except you, Wendy!). One of the things a coach looks for in a team is continued
improvement. I can honestly say that each and every girl on this team improved in some way as the season progressed.
What you saw at the tournament this weekend was a result of all of the girls' hard work and improvement. I know I can
be hard on the girls...I expect alot out of them. I believe, however, that if alot is expected, that they will usually
respond to the challenge. These girls absolutely responded and I couldn't be prouder of them.
What I am most proud of, however, was the way the Storm came together
as a team both on and off the field this year. It was so cool to see the girls develop friendships with each other.
I am really proud of the way our "core" group of players took in the "fill-in" players like T.K and Little Yoda and Shannon
and made them all feel like they were part of our team. I am amazed at the way that you parents all bonded with one
another and used the team to form new friendships. Again, I will go back to a couple of years ago for the Select team
and I can tell you that none of the parties and socializing that went on this year ever happened. I am very proud to
be part of the growth of the Select program from that point to where it is now.
Thank you all for your many contributions this year. Gregg and
I could not have done it without all of your help. Special thanks to Roger for the various rolls he filled on the team.
Of course, Michelle S. for all of her hard work gets a big kudos. Last but not least, Doug deserves major props for
his contributions this year. Things really started to click and we looked more like a team with him running the bench
for us. Have a great summer and we'll call everyone if we pull something together for the Fall.
Coach Scott
