These figures were obtained from Michael Cook's Bioethics Newsletter. They refute the slanderous
charges of journalists and writers in the UK and USA that Pope John Paul II should be blamed for AIDS in Africa.
This idea, which Cook, quoting Orwell, says is "so stupid that only intellectuals would believe it," points to the anti-Catholic
elitist agenda which, incidentally, seems to favor eradicating the poor people of the world. One of these writers, Polly Toynbee,
gushed that "contraception is women's true savior," but the facts refute her. Faith in Jesus Christ and loyalty to the teachings
of the Catholic Church is what stems the tide of AIDS. President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda promoted ABC -- Abstain, Be Faithful,
use Condoms (if you don't do A and B) and said that "the alternative [to traditional values] was decimation." The dramatically
lower figures of AIDS incidence in Uganda supports the traditional sexual morality that is taught in Catholicism and in the
world's monotheistic religions. What is particularly repulsive about the anti-Catholic sneers of people like Polly Toynbee
is that such people never look to their own habits of consumption for the real key to the world's problems, nor to Cheap Oil
for the real cause of overpopulation. I wonder how long it's going to take before people get the idea that the Dictatorship
of the Intellectuals is pretty rotten, and that the moral rottenness of our world owes much to the intellectuals.
