Presbyterian women s organizations have been in existence for 200 years, although under many different names and acronyms. Presbyterian Women came into formal existence on July 15, 1988 with the merger of United Presbyterian Women (UPCUSA) and Women of

the Church (PCUS), following the reunion of the church.  Thus, 2008 marks the 20th anniversary of Presbyterian Women in the Presbyterian Church (USA).
