The Annual Chilly Chili Paddle took place again this year but with the Corn Youth Alliance standing in hosts. Monster,
the cooker of all things awesome, prepared two kinds of chili for the occasion, Sirloin and the Infamous Pork Loin Green.
Both made from scratch with fresh chilies and both spectacular. The problem was attendance. No you fool not too
few. There was chili enough for twenty but somehow Thirty people attended. That's right.
Another record setting event for the CYA. First Bloomington and now this. CYA setting the bar for Coastal events
since 2004!!!
Eighteen boats set sail that day from Pony Pasture and headed down the Upper James. Such standouts as
YOAD and the Dick Weasel were there as were our new northern friends Ray and Helene and Nate. Guy, with another group
of boaters met those that chose to continue downtown at Reedy and the group grew and grew. Helene did great on her first
downtown run but I'm thinking her guide was at least a little responsible for the success. Some folks did great in other
ways.
It was a fine New Years day and all paddle groups were represented at the chili party afterwards at the CYA West End
headquarters (Guy's House). Paddle Boy Productions, Coastals, Team WAV, Daniel Digry's Team Hurl and Wallace and Grommit's
Team Swim.
We're betting you can't hardly wait for the next CYA record setting event!
