About Living History/Reenacting
Civil War reenacting has become one of the most exciting and
colorful hobbies of the 21st century. You are able to step back in time to when life was simpler and ideals were worth fighting
for. Imagine that you are in camp awakend by the sights, sounds, and smells of the 19th century. Hear the bugler as he plays
"reveille". Smell breakfast cooking over an open fire and taste that first cup of coffee. Hear the battle orders being read
as we are formed up for dress parade and colors. March off to battle and upon return sit around the fire with your "pards"
and talk about the days' battle. When the day is done, sleep under the stars dreaming of days gone by.
53rd PVI Co A
The 53rd PVI CO A is dedicated
to educating the public about the events of the American Civil War. In addition to battle reenactments, we are asked
to participate living history seminars, parades and school programs throughout the year. Once a year, we host a
living history program at the Montgomery Cemetery in Norristown PA. to help raise funds to restore the grounds befitting the
heros buried there. Our goals for each season are clearly defined: To be teachers and help raise funds for preservation of
Civil War sites.
