This is some exciting news right here. We just played our first gig at Leroy's Showcase Lounge. I don't mind tellin' ya, it was sweet like sugar. It brings in a diverse and friendly crowd that comes to drink and groove with the band. While it's a long narrow space, there is plenty of seating, dancing and room to hide if you need it. I should also mention that the staff worked hard to keep everybody well fed and drank. Needless to say, it's a great fit for a band like Dr Ketchup.
The best part is, we will be on a monthly rotation there starting with the last Friday in March. Come out!

JIM TOO
Okay, here's the thing; Carl went West. We wished him well, but we needed another drummer. Not exactly new territory for Dr Ketchup. We were prepared for a long hard search. Instead, we quickly found Jim Lefager. Jim loved the band and we thought Jim was pretty swell. Like any meaningful relationship, we figured it would take some time for Jim to settle in. It's only been a couple gigs, but I'm here to tell ya... Jim has definatly found his stride. Not only can he work up a lathery groove, but he happens to be a great guy. Can't figure out what he's doing with us, but we're not asking questions. Come out and show him some love.

NEW BREED
Another bit of news is the recent (in Dr Ketchup terms - last year) addition of Chris Ashman on trumpet. Chris is currently studying hard at UArts to be the next big thing. In the mean time, he's been bringin' it on the bandstand with all the funk and soul he can fit into that tiny mouthpiece. What comes out the other end is all the way live and very diggable. Come check him out.

IT'S IN THE BIN
Dr Ketchup has finally pulled it off! We just finished, mixed, mastered and pressed a full length CD. It's loaded with material we've had in the set for a while. However, some of it is stuff we wrote and arranged on the spot or not long before recording. We worked hard to keep it a groovin' fat mess of heady goodness.

We had support from several of our funk-o-rific brethren. Many who were past contributors to the Ketchup booty call, while others have infused new blood and energy into the music. For this, we thank you all.

Speaking of thank yous, we owe much to the Dr Ketchup faithful for coming out to shows, having a few cocktails too many, dancing, getting excited, occasionally undressing, and of course... insistently reminding us to make this CD.
