Retreats

Does the parish sponsor retreats? How do I sign up?

The Parish sponsors Cornerstone retreats, one for men, and another for women. Cornerstone is a 26-hour retreat. It is a renewal process that brings parishioners together to grow personally in their knowledge and love of God. It is also a very special way to experience the Christian community within the parish environment.

Cornerstone retreats are run by a parish team of men or women who have participated in previous retreats. Each team member shares his or her gifts in a variety of ways, such as leading small group discussions, speaking on selected themes, praying with scripture, and planning prayer services.

The Cornerstone talks are a "sharing" of personal experiences of God's love and activity in one's life. Each speaker shares his or her story of who he or she is and his or her relationship with the Lord. The stories are the "Good News" of Jesus with us today.

The Cornerstone retreat weekend begins on Friday evening at 6:45 PM and ends on Saturday with a family liturgy and celebration. The retreat takes place at Holy Trinity Interparochial School. Sleeping accommodations, meals and snacks are provided by members of the retreat team. During the weekend, there will be time for prayer, scripture, sharing and small group discussions. On Friday evening, the Sacrament of Reconciliation is available. After dinner on Saturday evening, there is a celebration of the Eucharist to which your family is invited. This is followed by a reception for you, your family, and the Cornerstone retreat team.

The next Women's Cornerstone retreat is February 22-23,2008.  The Men's Cornerstone retreat is March7-8, 2008

Look for registration forms at the beginning of Lent.
