Msgr. Joseph P. Masiello came to Holy Trinity
in 1995. He was ordained in 1969, completed his theological studies in Rome and was an assistant pastor in the parishes of
Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Jersey City and St. Peter's in Belleville before several years on the staff of Immaculate Conception
Seminary in Darlington. Following a brief assignment at St. Vincent's Parish in Bayonne, Msgr. Masiello was appointed pastor
of Our Lady of Mercy Parish in Jersey City. He was there for 9 1/2 years before his appointment as pastor of Holy Trinity.
In 1997, the Holy Father bestowed upon him the title of Prelate of Honor, and he was made a Monsignor.

Reverend Monsignor Gerard H. McCarren, S.T.D., has served as a weekend assistant priest at Holy Trinity Parish since 1996.
He is the Spiritual Director of Immaculate Conception Seminary and an assistant professor of Systematic Theology at Immaculate
Conception Seminary School of Theology at Seton Hall University in South Orange. Ordained in 1991, he
has served as Director of Liturgy at the seminary and on various archdiocesan committees. He earned a B.A. from
Yale in American History and Philosophy; an M. Div. from Immaculate Conception Seminary School of Theology; and an S.T.L.
and S.T.D. in Systematic Theology from The Catholic University of America in Washington specializing in the Theology
of John Henry Cardinal Newman's writings on faith and on the development of doctrine. Msgr. McCarren serves on
the Board of the Venerable John Henry Newman Association and is a spiritual director and teacher at the Institute for
Priestly Formation's seminarian program at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska during the summer.

Rev. Matt
Looney came down the hill from Our Lady of Peace in New Providence to Holy Trinity as our pastoral associate in 1989. His tenure with us here included a stint as Administrator while we awaited the appointment of a new pastor. After his ordination in 1958 he served as a hospital chaplain and then in several
parish assignments. Since his retirement in 2000 he has continued as our weekend
associate as well as moderator of the Seniors Group.
Fr.
Looney is a graduate of Seton Hall University in Classical Languages; he continued his studies at Immaculate Conception Seminary at
Darlington receiving a Master of Divinity. He
is a native of Maywood, NJ.

Deacon
Tom and his family joined Holy Trinity in 1970. He and his wife, Barbara were married in 1965 and have three daughters,
Ellen, Erika and Jessica and four grandchildren, Arabella, Luke, Colette,and Ethan James. A graduate of Rutgers University, he
worked in environmental protection at the local, state and international levels. Deacon Tom began his third career
as a fulltime deacon here at Holy Trinity in 2000 as ministry coordinator along with his regular liturgical duties of baptizing,
preaching, witnessing marriages and conducting wake services. He was ordained in May, 1992.

Sr. Kathy Burton, SSJ, is a Sister of St. Joseph of Chestnut
Hill, and serves Holy Trinity as the Director of Faith Formation for children and families.
Sister has taught on the elementary and junior high school levels. She
has served in the Newark Archdiocese as a Director of Faith Formation in three parishes.
She is also a facilitator for Catechist Formation for the Archdiocese and a teacher for the Archdiocesan Christian
Foundations for Ministry program.
Sister has served on national and archdiocesan catechetical
boards, including a six year term on the executive board of the National Parish Catechetical Directors and one year as vice
president.
Sister Kathy
received her BA in History from Chestnut Hill College
in Philadelphia and a Masters in Religious Studies from LaSalle
University in Philadelphia. She holds a certificate in family counseling from Iona
College in New Rochelle, NY
and has done post graduate work in adult and family faith formation at Regis University in Denver, Colorado. Sister has published several articles on family faith formation and co-authored two
books, one on conscience formation and the other on catechist formation.

Sister Joan Connelly, a School Sister of Notre Dame (S.S.N.D.), is

Sr. Joan comes to Holy Trinity with broad experience at the parish
and diocesan levels. After teaching in elementary and high schools, she served
as a pastoral associate at Sacred Heart, Vailsburg, St. Michael, Cranford, and St. Aloysius, Jersey City. Sr. Joan has worked in collaborative team ministry at parish, diocesan, and community
levels; facilitated RENEW groups and trained liturgical ministers for service in the parish.
She is experienced in parish retreats and days of recollection, adult learning methods, group discernment, and is certified
in spiritual direction.
Her diocesan experience includes four years as Diocesan Consultant
for RCIA and Adult Religious Formation, Diocese of Springfield, MA, 15 years as Instructor in adult religious formation and
20 years as Pastoral Associate. She serves as Co-Director of the S.S.N.D. Associate
Program, a group of women and men sharing the charism and affiliated spiritually and socially with the School Sisters of Notre
Dame.
She holds a Master of Arts, Theology, Providence
College, Providence, Rhode Island,
Masters of Arts, American History, St. John's University, Jamaica,
New York. She
also attended Weston Jesuit School of Theology, Cambridge, MA.
