MONASTERY OF OUR LADY OF THE ROSARY PERMISSION SLIP
October 19, Sunday (Monastery of Our Lady of the Rosary)
The Dominican Nuns of Summit, New Jersey are a Roman Catholic cloistered monastic community. Like all contemplatives, their specific mission is unceasing prayer
for the entire Church, a spiritual service in the form of praise, adoration, intercession, expiation and thanksgiving. By
profession, they are wholly consecrated to the Church and are called to the task of spreading the Kingdom
of God in the world, using only the means of prayer and penance. There
are currently 9 women who are in the novitiate at the monastery. They will share with us their call to live as contemplatives,
what their day to day lives are like and they will explain and lead us in the Liturgy of the Hours (Vespers).

SALESIANS OF DON BOSCO PERMISSION SLIP
November 9, Sunday (Salesians of Don Bosco)
The Salesians of Don Bosco is a Roman
Catholic religious order founded in the mid nineteenth century by Saint John Bosco in an attempt, through works of charity,
to care for the young and poor children of the industrial revolution. Salesian priests, brothers and sisters continue to love
serve the young, especially the young on the margins, so that they
can discover their dignity and uniqueness as children of God.
John Bosco adapted the attractive spirituality of Francis de Sales
to suit the needs of young people. Both were profoundly aware that God was to be found in the 'bits and pieces' of everyday
life. Living those moments with love and awareness of the presence of God was the way to holiness.
Please arrive at the Gym
entrance of Holy Trinity School
at 3:10 pm. The bus will leave Holy Trinity at 3:20 pm. We should arrive back home at approximately 9:30 pm. The Salesian Fathers are located in Orange.
PERMISSION SLIP REQUIRED BY 11/2/08 (AGES 13- 17 )
SAINT WALBURGA MONASTERY PERMISSION SLIP
December 7, Sunday (St. Walburga Monastery)
The Benedictine sisters of Elizabeth seek God, looking for him in every facet of their lives. In the Benedictine tradition,
they do this within community, supported and sustained by the God of their monastic profession and by one another. In the
Rule of Benedict, they are directed to bear one another’s burdens, to respect the elders and love the young, to take
care of the sick among them, to serve one another, and, above all, to show eagerness for their prayer life. They are focused
on the basics of their monastic life with its balance of prayer, work and leisure. Their life is regulated by the rhythm of
the Liturgy of the Hours and Eucharist, and overflows into a variety of ministries that both support the monastic community
and respond to the contemporary needs of Church and world.
Please arrive at the Gym
entrance of Holy Trinity
School at 2:45 pm. The bus will leave Holy Trinity at 3:00 pm. We should
arrive home at approximately 6:00 pm. The sisters of St. Walburga are located
in Elizabeth.
