Reviews- A Poet Among Us
George C. Pizzo's poetry comes straight from the
heart. His mode of expression is direct, unencumbered, unpretentious. He opens his mind on paper revealing the
things that move him both deeply and lightly. His poems are his naked expressions of wonderment and an examination of
his inner most thoughts about the world around him.
Mr. Pizzo takes the reader by the hand on an excursion
through his life revealing elements like: adolescent nightmares, the birth and death of the Twin Towers (both of which
he witnessed), memories of a beach outing in the rain, tender letters to his departed mother, and mid-life wonderment about
his place in the universe. And to the mix Mr. Pizzo adds poems like "The Stranger " and "The Temptress: which lightly
hint at his inner most sensual self. In this collection of poems, Mr. Pizzo's intense desire to express himself in poetic
form comes through clearly and forcefully. Mr. Pizzo is, unquestionably, " A Poet Among Us."
