First, the ceremony at the gardens:

From the Homestead Suites:
Homestead Suites is located at the intersections of Martin Luther King Blvd. and University Drive.
When you exit the hotel parking lot, you can turn right and go to University Drive. Or, you can turn left, and go to
MLK. However, if you go to MLK, you can only turn right, because there is a traffic island. If you want to go
left, to go to the wedding or the Barbeque, you must do a U-turn. Better off taking a left out of the Hotel parking
lot and going to University Drive. ;)
- Take a right out of the hotel parking lot, drive a few hundred feet to
University Drive, and go RIGHT.
- Drive about 1.3 miles and take a LEFT on to Chapel Hill Road at the stoplight.
There are two gas stations at the stoplight and the Birdy Boutique.
- Continue on for another 1.1 miles. Then turn LEFT on to Anderson
Street at a stoplight. Just before this turn, the road will bend sharply to the right. (wave to Becky and Clayton's
first house, just around the corner from this intersection)
- Just another 1.4 miles and you are there. You will drive through
a little forest area, then stop at two more traffic lights, go another half block, and turn LEFT into the gardens. There
is a semi-circular stone wall with a similar drive. If you pass over a highway or train tracks, you have gone to far!
Just turn around and drive back a few blocks.
There is an automated parking meter pay station and you have to put your money in, get a ticket, and then put it in your
car windshield (because sometimes Duke likes to be difficult). The ceremony should not be too long, so an hour will
be more than enough.
Next, the reception at the Greystone (map shows from gardens):

Leave the gardens parking lot and take a RIGHT on to Anderson
Street.

Go to the second traffic light and take a LEFT on Duke University
Road.

Continue for about 1 mile, or until you know you
have left Duke and are getting to downtown (you will pass over the Durham Freeway)

Turn Right on Vickers Avenue; you should see a church
and the Durham Police building - don't run the light!

Now just a half-mile and the Greystone will be on your left,
at the corner of Vickers and Morehead Avenue. Yay!
Finally, the BBQ/Picnic (map shows from Homestead Suites):

Again, take a right out of the hotel parking lot, drive a
few hundred feet to University Drive, and go RIGHT.

At the light, turn LEFT on to Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway.

Continue north on US-15/501 for 3.4 miles.

Take the Hillsborough Rd/NC-147/US-70 exit towards the Durham
Freeway (which is NC-147)

There are a few options on this exit ramp, so make sure you
get on the Durham Freeway (NC-147) going NORTH!

After 1.6 miles, this will turn into I-85 South (go figure),
which is also US-70 at this point.

After another 2.2 miles on I-85, take exit #170 for US-70.

Just after you get off the Interstate, take a RIGHT at the
first traffic light on to Pleasant Green Road.

After 2.2 miles turn LEFT on to Cole Mill Road.

The gates to the park a less than a mile away now!

Just keep driving straight, following the signs for the picnic
area.

You will come out into a clearing with a large parking lot.

Park at the far end and follow your nose and ears to the picnic
shelter.
