Here's a little info on the bride, groom, and attendants...
Rebecca Lynn Seibert: Becky is an Army Brat. She was born in Jacksonville, Florida, but spent all of three days there before being
whisked away to North Carolina by her parents. Her father's subsequent tours of duty took her to such exotic
locations as Washington, D.C., Virginia, Florida, Kansas, and Georgia. Despite this, or maybe because of it, Becky doesn't
have much of a southern accent. But she is southern at heart, and hopes you'll see that at the wedding.
In 1993 Becky entered Duke University, where she met Clayton.
She graduated in 1997 with a BS in Civil Engineering, and, staying in Durham, immediately went to work in the telecommunications
industry. Go figure. In 2001 the telcom industry went bust, forcing Becky to return to her roots. She accepted
a Civil Engineering job as a Land Developer, and taking Clayton and the puppies with her, moved to Baltimore, Maryland.
Clayton Sumner Peterson:
Clayton is likewise a Marine/Government Brat. He was born
on December 13th, a Friday, in Wiesbaden, Germany. He then bounced back and forth between Germany and Durham, North
Carolina, something like this: Grade School at Rhein Main, Middle School at Carolina Friends School, High School in Frankfurt,
and a brief stay at Duke, where he met wonderful Becky. We all know what happened
next. Fortunately, Becky stuck by her man and they were reunited in 1997.
Clayton then decided
to get serious, and finished up his undergrad at North Carolina State University, where he earned his B.S. in Computer Engineering
(and graduated Valedictorian). Clayton then moved to Baltimore with Becky. The economy was down, so after a year of not finding what he was looking for, Clayton
decided that school was the best place to be. Johns Hopkins University agreed
with him. He will receive his Masters in Electrical and Computer Engineering
from them in May. After so many years of school, Clayton finally learned that
it is best to graduate with a job. He starts at Northrop Grumman in June, the
day after he and Becky come back from their honeymoon.
How they met:
Becky and Clayton met at Duke in the Spring of 1994, where Becky was
a Freshman living in Aycock dormitory. As fate would have it, Clayton moved into the same dorm. Upon hearing that
a new guy was entering, Becky made it a point to meet him and make him feel welcome. As it turns out, the new guy was
devastatingly handsome, and she fell for him. At the time of their engagment in May of 2002, they had been together
for 8-1/2 years! They have been through all manner of highs and lows and everything in between, and have managed to
stick together through it all.
Becky and Clayton currently live together with their two dogs,
Hamlet and Ophelia, in Baltimore. They love city life, and recently bought a home in historic Federal Hill, south of
Baltimore's Inner Harbor. Like any good 100-year old rowhome, it's falling apart at the seams! Between fixing
a leaky shower, and discovering an electrician's worst nightmare, they are getting all kinds of practice for their grand
remodeling plans, which will begin some time after the wedding.
