The Cermony:
The ceremony will be held at four o'clock in the afternoon, at the Sarah P.
Duke Memorial Gardens in Durham, North Carolina. The Gardens are a part of Duke University's West Campus. A detailed
map of the Gardens themselves, illustrating the location of the ceremony, and parking, will be available soon in the maps
section. If you really want to know everything about the Gardens, see the official website.
PLEASE NOTE that due to space constraints,
there is a strict limitation on the number of chairs that can be provided for the ceremony. Most guests will have to
stand, but rest assured, the ceremony will not last too long!
For directions to the ceremony or reception site, please see the maps page.
The Reception:

| The Greystone Mansion, viewed from Vickers Avenue |
The Greystone Mansion is one of Durham's original grandiose homes, built in
1911 for Mr. James Stagg, nephew of Mr. Bartlett Durham, for whom the town is named. It has recently been fully restored
to its original splendor, and by hosting our reception here, we hope to create a very cozy feeling, as if we were hosting
the reception in our own home. You know, like we won the lottery or something.
The reception will include coctails, a buffet dinner, music, and, we
hope, lots of dancing. We're going to be having a lot of fun ourselves, and we hope each guest will join us in the dancing
and merriment.
Ample parking is available at the Greystone, but the lot is gravel, so in
the event of rain, we apologize in advance for your nice shoes. Directions are on the maps page.
Additional Events:
The Rehearsal:
The rehearsal will take place on Friday, May 28th, at 6:00pm in the Gardens.
Participants are invited to dinner at... an as-yet undisclosed location. The dinner is graciously being hosted by the
groom's mother, Mrs. Patricia Peterson.
Sunday Picnic:
So, you got yet another of those silly postcards in the mail, and you're
wondering what it's about! Yes, the Petersons (to-be) are hosting a completely informal barbeque lunch on Sunday afternoon,
1:00pm, at the Eno River State Park (Few's Ford picnic area). The idea of the picnic is to provide entertainment to
those out-of-town guests who are staying through the weekend. Please don't feel obligated to form your travel plans
around the picnic! But if you'll still be in town Sunday afternoon, you're looking for something to do, and
you like barbeque, then join us!
Directions will appear shortly on the maps page, to clarify the maps on the front of the postcard. The park is about
a 15-minute drive from the Homestead Suites hotel, so it's not far. As for the food, by "barbeque," we mean the North
Carolina kind: pulled pork with some kind of tomatoey or vinegary sauce on it. The picnic area is actually a large shelter,
so rain won't be a problem. And the whole thing will be extremely low-key.
If you'd like to RSVP (pardon my franglish), you can do so
here by emailing Becky.
What Else Is There To Do?
Good question! As you may know, in Durham, the options are limited.
You can try CitySearch for ideas, or check the logisitics page, where we've listed a few suggestions.
