Ruth - The Melodrama
Ruth and Naomi may be thrown out of the pitiful little
hovel they call home if they can't pay the rent to villain Black Bartholomew. Will Boaz step up to the plate and save
Ruth before its too late?
Although it can be adapted for a memorized performance, this
is a reader's theater version with the cast playing the cast of a radio show, reading from scripts. It uses the
audience to provide the sound effects typical of a melodrama ("Boo Hiss" etc.) Run time approximately 35 minutes.

The Widow's Oil
What will the poor widow Ann Teek do when all that is left
for her family to live on is some cod liver oil? Will Robin DaPoor and his henchman, Noah Count prevail? Reader's
theater version can be used as a radio show format or adapted to a full production. Run time approximately 20 minutes.
3Cast: 3 male, 3 female. Non speaking extras as additional children
or observers in court may be added.
Abigail - the Melodrama
Loosely based on
the Biblical account of David and Abigail with a wild. wild west setting.. When
Abigail’s father, Owen Lots, can’t pay the rent Abigail has to marry the despicable landlord Nabal. Throughout the story God’s providence is emphasized. The
audience gets into the act when cued by signs. Run time approximately 33
minutes. Flexible casting 7-18.
