PARIS -FRANCE
The people in Paris were very friendly. They kept asking Bud questions and touching him. He didn't mind that but because he doesn't understand French he didn't answer. In 1998 France's football (soccer) team won the world cup. Everybody there was excited.
In the picture, Bud is in front of the Arc De Triomphe de l'etoile. The emperor Napoleon ordered its construction in 1806 as a tribute to his Imperial Army which was the greatest in the world until they went to a town called Waterloo. The monument was completed thirty years later, long after Waterloo, but they finished it anyway. Synonymous with French patriotism, the structure is 50m tall and holds the tomb of France's Unknown Soldier. The traffic around the circle is very busy.
