Many people believe that Mickey Mouse was created and drawn by Walt Disney. Actually Mickey originated as Mortimer Mouse in 1927 and was drawn by Disney's then partner
Ub Iwerks. Renamed Mickey a year later, he appeared in "Steamboat Willie", the first sound cartoon. Walt Disney provided Mickey's squeaky voice. This is true.Many people also believe that Mr. Disney had himself cryogenically frozen upon his death with the hope that science would later be able to cure his cancer and restore him to life. It is further believed that in 1981 a California judge had the plug pulled on his refrigerator because the ensuing battle over his estate would be far too complicated should he actually be revived. It is also purported that he ran the Disney Co. years after his death through the use of video tape recordings which were played at annual board meetings and outlined the strategies for the coming year. These are all wonderful Urban Legends, nothing more.
