Bud in Sydney, Australia
Flag Compass
Australia is the sixth biggest country in the world but it is a whole continent all by itself. It was discovered by a Dutch explorer named Abel Tasman. The island of Tasmania is named for him. The 'Taz,' a popular Warner Bros. cartoon character, is based on the carnivorous marsupial, Sarcophilus harrisi or Tasmanian Devil, which lives there. Another well known marsupial is the Macropodidae or Kangaroo. The reproductive organs of marsupials are very different from mammals. Female marsupials don't have a uterus but a pouch and have they have two vaginas. Male marsupials have a forked penis, and the the testes are in front of the penis. In the Eighteenth century he British government thought it would be a good idea to send prisoners there. The first prison colony was Port Jackson, which was later named Sydney. Sydney has a beautiful harbor. This place is called Mrs. Macquaries Chair. It has a great view of the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge.
