TASKS AS TRIP REQUIREMENTS Due March 25
I. Develop Personal Portfolio / Notebook :
1. Personal
2. Community
3. History & Culture
- Portfolio to include :
- photos that reflect your world
- drawings that share more about yourself
- maps of your world, geneology
- portfolio vocabulary list, English and Spanish
- include one favorite recipe and plan on cooking
dinner one night
II. Interview Portfolio / Notebook - Due April
25
Portfolios into 3 sections as above
Digital cameras will be used with families
- Portfolio to include:
- questions to investigate the history, culture and life styles as understood by our families
- photo pages to insert photos taken while in San Andres
- extra photo pages to leave with family, as book is to be copied and given to host families
- a large fold out page or two or three for family drawn - in Spanish and English
- recipe page where you will scribe a typical meal/recipe from your family
- reflection page on evening help cook this dinner
- tortilla page, have your house kids draw your first tortillas

on our own ?
- What makes San Andres special to you and your family (ask members
separately) ?

III. Special Activity - Due May 25 & June 15
1. One project per volunteer
2. Volunteers responsible for project to completion
3. All volunteers work on all
other's projects
4. Design project suitable for future use
5.
Develop with a carrying case, directions, extra materials
6. Materials list complete, as simple as possible
7. Project ideas can range to anything that holds your interest
- possible ideas include:
- Learning and teaching children songs important to their culture
- books are available in library or can be obtained from internet
- book activities (multiple copies of books will be purchased)
- Origami, using Sadako and the Thousand Cranes
- Organizing a chess, checker or scrabble tournament
- Playing music, organizing a mini-concert
- Juggling lessons
- Photography project
- ABC book , letters formed in nature, letters
formed in local structures
- Photo display or photo show
- Mapping
the town and homes of children
