St. Cyril’s students, teachers and parents create a welcoming school family for all. The exemplary
manners and conduct of the students is noted by visitors to the school. A strong proponent of the anti-bullying initiative,
St. Cyril’s provides an environment in which children gain confidence and feel comfortable with their peers.
St.
Cyril’s is proud of the many accomplishments of its students and teaching staff. Plaques and trophies line the halls
and shelves attesting to the writing, art and sports awards. Our Athletic Association provides a coaching staff for basketball,
soccer, football and cheerleading teams. Our teachers, too, have been recognized locally and at state and national levels
as outstanding educators.
St. Cyril’s boasts of two, state of the art, computer rooms. Students receive computer
instruction as well as access to a research lab. Students also have the opportunity to be members of a “tech team”
and learn about the operations and management of the computer systems in the school.
An active Student Council provides
leadership opportunities for the students as well as creating service projects and prayer services for the school and parish
community. Advent and Lent prayer services, daily prayer meditations, parish food bank support and foreign mission awareness
are part of their many activities.
St. Cyril’s has established several partnerships within the community to enrich
the student’s learning experience while creating a dynamic through which to serve. Our partnerships include but are
not limited to: VFW Post 2754, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, The Holocaust Center of Pittsburgh, The Little Sisters
of the Poor. Through these organizations, the children have hosted speakers, participated in awards programs and writing campaigns
to the active military, planned veterans’ celebrations and entertained the elderly.
The St. Cyril’s School
family of students, teachers and parents, is a vital cornerstone in the Brighton Heights community of Pittsburgh.
