Many thanks go out to everyone who met, and those of you who went above and beyond their Fundraising obligation for the 2008-09 school year.  Thank you also to those who willingly volunteered your time for a Fundraiser and accepted NO points.  Without everyone’s help St. Cyril School wouldn’t be what it is today.

PLAN YOUR SCHOOL YEAR NOW!

Now that the 2009/2010 school year is about to begin, it is imperative that you begin your fundraising now.  We urge all families to plan the year so as not to wait until next May and find out that you are far behind in your fundraising obligation.  Please consider budgeting.  If you feel some of the fundraisers just aren’t for you, plan to write a check monthly to keep up.  If you have 1 child it comes to $69 a month, 2 children $110 a month and 3 or more children $152 a month.  

Buy Giant Eagle certificates all summer long.  Even if you do not purchase your weekly groceries there, many gift certificates are available. For example, if you have summer projects planned, purchase Home Depot certificates.  (NOTE:  some certificates need 24 hours to be processed so you cannot use them right after you buy them.  Check with Giant Eagle first.)  You will be spending money at Home Depot anyway, so why not get your points while doing so.  You can earn Fuel Perks as well by using your Advantage Card to purchase the certificates and in turn earn discounts on gasoline, or  you can just use the Giant Eagle gift card to purchase gas at Get Go which also in return will give you Food Perks.

If you bought a new summer wardrobe or when you purchase any new school uniforms at Kohl’s, buy the Gift Certificates and pay off your charge card. (NOTE: The Kohl’s certificates that you buy at Giant Eagle are not able to be used to pay off your charge only the ones we have available through school.). 

Remember for every $100 you spend on a Giant Eagle, Penney’s or Kohl’s gift card you will receive 1 point.

All these certificates can be purchased at the Rectory, after Weekend Masses, or during the school year, Giant Eagle cards may be purchased in the school office.

These suggestions are a win-win for everyone.  It just takes a little planning and you can earn your points in no time.  Remember this all for your children and your school.

REMINDERS FOR THE SUMMER

·        Fundraising points begin to accumulate now

·        You are not officially registered in school until you have signed a contract with Maureen Stack in the Rectory

·        The School Fundraising quota for the 2009/10 school year is  $125,000  and the Family points are 1 child in family=165 points, 2 children in the family = 265 points and 3 or more children in the family = 365 points.  REMEMBER, this is part of the school contract that you signed

·        Every School Family should have  worked a minimum of one (1) two hour shift “per student” during the Summer Festival, otherwise you will be required to pay $25 per student if you did not work

·        For every $5 that  St. Cyril realizes as a result of your fundraising or direct donation, you receive 1 point

·        YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PARTICIPATE IN EVERY FUNDRAISER, many are offered so  that you may choose the ones that fit you best

·        You can help chair a fundraiser and  earn coordinator points

·        You can make cash payments to buy down your fundraising balance

·        Save your newspapers, magazines & junk mail & deposit it in the receptacles in the back of the parking lot

·        Save your ink cartridges.& cell phones.  The school recycles them to earn cash.   Just place them in a bag and send them to the school office

·        If you have a Target Visa card see that the school gets the credit

·        Coordinators—if you decide you no longer want to be a coordinator, you must notify the Fundraising Committee.  You cannot turn the position over to someone else

·        Spread the word, ask family, friends, neighbors, etc, to help out any way they can by participating in any of these fundraisers.
