To: Secretary General Annan, Ambassadors at Washington and the United Nations in New York, Vice President
Cheney and members of the United States Senate:
Citizen of the USA Stephen M. St. John points out that all the lies about WMD in Iraq were not only a pretext
for the illegal invasion and occupation of Iraq, but also for 12 years of unduly harsh sanctions against the people of Iraq.
Furthermore, as serious as those lies were, they are but little ones when compared with the BIG LIE about what happened
on 9/11, which President George W. Bush also used to promote aggression against Iraq. Recent disclosures about US military
surveillance prior to 9/11 reveal the 9/11 Commission's lack of candor in this particular matter; however, this is just
the tip of the iceberg! In this regard, Citizen St. John invites the international community to read his A Dissenting
Critique of the 9/11 Commission Report, which is easily available at his fledgling web site http://mysite.verizon.net/vze4wbps. Citizen St. John avers that the benchmark of an honest investigation into the attacks
of 9/11 will be the handling of the issue of the missing or withheld video surveillance tapes showing the alleged hijackers
as well as other passengers boarding the ill-fated jets at Boston's Logan, Newark's Liberty and Washington's Dulles international
airports. Why haven't we seen these routine surveillance tapes? The international investigation into the unfortunate
assassination of Rafiq Hariri sets a precedent for a similar investigation into the attacks of 9/11, which would answer this
question about the 9/11 tapes and many others. As "party to a dispute" with Iraq which led to an illegal invasion and
occupation, the USA will refrain from voting on the question of such an investigation in the Security Council under the provisions
of Article 27.3 of the Charter of the United Nations.
