Medieval Life Re-Creation

The Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA for short) is fun, educational and a great place to make new friends with a common interest in history. There's lots to do. For example, I enjoy armored combat, fencing, throwing weapons (axes, knives and spears), archery, drumming , feasting, partying and just gathering around the fire talking.

Captain William Trent's Company of the Virginia Militia, Virginia Regiment (1754)

Re-enacting is a great way to experience history. For a history nut like me, it's a chance to get away from computer, pagers, cell phones, beepers and all of the other insanity that has become commonplace in our modern world. In my short history (pun intended) with Trent's Company, I've learned what it feels like to drag around, march with and fire a cumbersome Brown Bess musket. You get a real taste of what it was like standing in a skirmish line during a battle in the 18th century as well. They're a great bunch of good-hearted, skilled and fun-loving people. I am their webmaster as well. I hope you enjoy their site.

Show me and I remember.
Let me do and I understand.

There is no present. There's only the immediate future and the recent past.

"I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world."
