Hi!  My name is Matt and I am the operator of Atlantic Boat Finders! 

I work full time, hold a Master's of Business Administration degree, and currently reside at the beach in Manasquan NJ.

 

I started this service not only because I'm a boat lover, but also because I feel there is a real need to help people find and sell boats!

I have been boating for almost 20 years now with most of my adventures taking place on the Manasquan River, The Barnegat Bay, and the Atlantic Ocean. 

 

 

I am currently the owner of a near mint Classic 13'6'' 1968 Boston Whaler.  I can definitely say that she was not always in near mint condition.  It took almost a full year to restore her to her original beauty.  Hundreds of hours were spent sanding, staining, and polyurethaning the original mahogany seats and console; replacing the old pulley system steering with a safer Teleflex system; repairing the original handrails; installing a new battery, ignition switch, fuel delivery system, and rubber bumper; and finally repairing the 1979 35 HP Johnson Seahorse that needed a new clutch in the lower unit (experts did this), a new carburetor, and a new head and water cover gasket (I did this myself). 

 

 

My 13 foot classic will be a major tool in the teaching of my two children and wife about boating.  Hopefully, I will not come across a nicely priced classic 17 foot whaler or my 13 footer will be up for sale.

 

 

Restoring my Whaler was not only a great learning experience, it was also a time when I had to become resourceful in finding parts for my 40 year old boat and my 30 year old engine.  Along the way, I made many nationwide contacts with boat dealers, boat yards, and people selling parts.  I also found a way to streamline my searches on the Internet, finding the specific parts I needed in the shortest amount of time. 

 

Over the past two years, I have also sharpened my research skills.  I can attribute this to the many days and nights I had to look for information to complete MBA level essays, school papers, and reports.
