Welcome to the Black Dog Forge website.

Here in my Smithy located deep in the woods of Royalston, Massachusetts I produce fine
works of Hand Forged Wrought Iron. Functional works of art that will last many lifetimes. Each piece hand crafted from steel
in a coal fired forge and shaped with hammer and anvil. I use the same methods and techniques as Blacksmiths the
world over have used for many ages.

Black
Dog Forge , named for my Black Dog , Buster , who was always with me as I began to learn the almost forgotten art of Blacksmithing.
He would lie beside the anvil or beneath the forge as I would work , hot scale and coal would fall into his thick black fur, still
he would never leave my side.
Buster is gone now but his memory lives on in
my Smithy with each ring of the anvil.
Steel Roses.
Forged from a 1/2 x 1/2 in. square bar of solid steel.

The "Basket Twist" candle holders were made special order
for my sister-in-law to give to her daughter.
The "Howling Wolves" candle holder was a custom piece for
the wife of a good friend as a Christmas gift.
OK , OK, so it's not "traditional" blacksmith work. I never
said I was strictly a "traditionalist" But they are cool , don't you think?
