RUST FINISH
000_0312.jpg

This plate hanger is for a large copper tray. The customer wanted it to look nice on the wall whenever they decided to use the tray and asked for a "rust finish". Rust is the natural finish for iron and steel but nature takes time with matters like this. I have learned to accelerate the rusting process. The photo above is after four days during the rusting process.

Below is a Gate made for my brothers house. He wanted an iron gate to keep his dog from entering his house when keeping  the door to the house open. We had no plans or drawings to work from, only the measurement of the width of the door opening. I began this piece on a Sunday morning at 8:00 AM and we carried this out of the smithy and to his SUV at 3:00 PM that day.
He needs to paint and install.
You're welcome Dave.
