ABORTION

An abortion is the expulsion of an unborn child (fetus)
which weighs less than 17oz. and 2.2 lbs.  Their chances of
living are extremely poor.  Premature infants weigh between
2.2 lbs and 5.5 lbs. and their chances of survival range from
poor to good, depending on their weight.  Mature infants
weigh 5.5 and more at birth, their chance of survival is best.

The general public uses the word miscarriage for early
interruption of a pregnancy and the word abortion for a
criminal interference with  a pregnancy, "but" scientifically
the word aborton has nothing to do with criminality.  The
   types of abortion are:
Threatened,  complete,  abortion in progress,  inevitable
incomplete,  septic,  habitual,  missed,  therapeutic,   and

abortion is based on a necessity for saving a  woman's  life.
****The woman who is unlawfully aborted, or upon whom an
unlawful abortion is attempted, is not usually considered a
criminal offender herself.  She is viewed in the law as a
victim of the criminal act of the other person or persons.
Should the unlawful abortion, or its attempt, produce the
death of the woman, the person committing the act is guilty
  of  "Murder or Manslaughter".
