Rules

The school is somewhat more flexible than the larger schools. For instance, students may select the color of their leotard. Kindergarten students are permitted to wear little ballet skirts. However, since ballet is a disciplined art, there are some rules that must be obeyed. Thank you for your help in meeting these rules. I hope you have a wonderful time at the Westford Studio of Ballet Arts!

Please be on time. You may come early to change in the dressing room. Classes will start and end on time.
Please do not talk in class. We can learn more when we are quiet.
Payment in full is due on or before the first day of each semester. A non-refundable deposit of $25 (good toward tuition) serves to hold a student's slot in a particular class.
Please have hair pulled off face in either a bun or ponytail, unless one has short hair. Headbands are recommended for short hair.
Attire should be pink or white ballet slippers, a leotard (long sleeve is preferred for the winter months), and pink or white ballet tights. No skirts are permitted for students after Intro to Ballet. Adults may wear shirts and/or sweatpants over their leotards, if they are more comfortable with this attire.
No street shoes may be worn in the dance studio. Please leave street shoes in the dressing room.
Waiver forms must be signed before taking any classes.
There are no refunds for missed classes. The studio will attempt to honor one makeup class per semester, schedule permitting. There is a non-refundable deposit of $25 due at the beginning of each semester to hold a student’s slot. This deposit is used toward tuition, but will not be refunded if a student drops a class. Refunds are prorated and granted only up to the second week of the semester, should a student drop a class.
Watching class is not encouraged on an ongoing basis, as it often makes the children nervous knowing they are being watched. Parents should wait in the lobby. However, parents of young children may watch class after gaining teacher approval.
No food. Parents with small children should treat the studio as their own home, as they are accountable for any studio damage.
