P R E   B A L L E T 

This class exposes children between the ages of four and five to ballet. This class meets for 45 minutes once a week. It’s a great introduction, including learning ballet positions and basic steps at the barre and across the center. The class is designed to improve your child’s listening skills, balance, grace, and sense of rhythm. We will take ballet stories and bring them to life using our newly acquired ballet steps. The class will also include some improvizational dance.

I N T R O   T O   B A L L E T 

This class is for kindergarten and first graders. This 45 minute class meets once a week. Students will learn the basic ballet positions and first ballet steps. The class includes barre work, stretching, and center. Each class offers improvizational dance time or a ballet story and/or game to make the class fun.

B A L L E T   I 

This class is for grades first through third. This hour class meets once a week. While this is the first ballet class for many students, this is when the more serious training commences. Approximately half the class is allocated to the barre and stretching, with the remainder dedicated to center. Often, the class will include some improvizational dance or a ballet game, to make the transition from Intro to Ballet more easy.

B A L L E T   I I 

This class is for grades second through fifth. This hour long class meets once a week. This class becomes more serious following Ballet I. Greater attention is given to armwork and center.

B A L L E T   I I I   &   I V /   A D V .   B E G I N N E R 

These advanced beginner classes are for grades three through high school. While this hour and a quarter class meets once a week, students are encouraged to take two classes a week to advance their development. In this third year of serious ballet instruction, students are learning more advanced steps. Barre work, balance, and turns are emphasized. Combinations become longer, as well. Strengthening is also stressed to prepare for pointe class. Teens with minimal ballet training may take the Advanced Beginner Ballet class.

A D V A N C E D   B E G I N N E R   B A L L E T / J A Z Z   C O M B O 

This class is designed for teens. The class meets once a week for one and a half hours. This is for the student who has had a ballet foundation but would like to also dance jazz. The class offers lyrical and musical comedy style jazz.

I N T E R M E D I A T E   A N D   A D V A N C E D   B A L L E T 

These classes meet twice a week for one and a half hours. At these levels, classes emphasize a more difficult barre and centerwork with advanced steps and combinations. Greater attention to the head and dancing with the entire body are stressed. Students matriculating in these classes are often at beginner through advanced pointe levels.

P O I N T E 

A student must be 12 years of age and be invited to take pointe class, to prevent injury. Ideally, a student should be taking two or more ballet classes a week to take a pointe class. Pointe Class is offered for beginner, advanced beginner, intermediate, and advanced pointe students. Beginner pointe class is 30 minutes in duration, while the intermediate level is one hour. The classes stress strength building of the feet and placement. Centerwork often consists of variations at the more advanced levels.

A D V A N C E D   B E G I N N E R   B A L L E T   -   A D U L T S 

This class meets for one and a quarter hours, once a week. The class is geared toward adults with some prior ballet training (possibly in their younger years). Emphasis is placed on barre work and stretching.

I N T E R M E D I A T E   -   A D U L T S   &   T E E N S 

This class meets between one and a quarter hours to one and a half hours, once a week. The class is the continuation of the Advanced Beginner Adult class. Centerwork: adagio, turns, and jumps become more advanced in this class. Also, combinations are longer.

A D V A N C E D   B E G I N N E R   J A Z Z   -     A D U L T S 

This class is for adults who have had some prior jazz dance training, although it need not be extensive. This hour class meets once a week. Following center warmups, the class focuses on learning and perfecting dances and/or steps vastly from musical numbers

A C T I N G / J A Z Z C O M B O 

This class is designed for students ages eight through 12 and is targeted toward the student that enjoys acting and dance. This hour and a half class meets once a week. Class time is split between jazz dancing (musical comedy numbers) and acting. While the acting offers some improvizational work, the focus is more on character development and becoming more comfortable on stage through scene work - vastly from musicals. Various tools and techniques are learned to increase the actor's believability.
