                                        Welcome, all lovers of bamboo fly rods.

 

This site is dedicated to the art of building, the craft of restoring and the delight of fishing bamboo fly rods.  We build for our own satisfaction, buy when our finances permit, repair and restore rods in need of loving care, trade when it pleases both parties and sell when we must to afford another beloved rod. 

Bamboo fly rods are made from a uniquely strong and flexible bamboo that grows naturally in a small area of Southern China.  Commonly called Tonkin Cane, its scientific name is arundinaria amabilis, or "lovely reed."  We take our name from the bamboo that defines our craft.
