“4000 THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW”

There is a book written by John Farndon that has the title above. It is a book bent toward evolution. It states that the earth is several million years old and that man evolved.

I thought about the title and came up with my own “4000 Things you should know.”

I.                  YOU SHOULD KNOW HOW YOU GOT HERE. GENESIS 1,2.

A.    Creation vs. evolution.

B.     Most public schools and secular, and even some “Christian” schools and universities, teach evolution as FACT.

II.              YOU SHOULD KNOW WHY YOU ARE HERE. GEN. 1.26

A.    We were created in God’s image.

1.                  Plants possess a body, animals posses a body and soul (conscience), man posses the image of God; an eternal spirit which is capable of communion and fellowship with his Creator.

B.     We were created for fellowship, praise, and worship. Gen. 3.8

1.                  Psalms 139:14  I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

2.                  Revelation 4:11  Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

3.                  Colossians 1:16  For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

III.          YOU SHOULD KNOW WHAT HAPPENED AFTER YOU GOT HERE. GEN. 3.1-

A.    Sin took over.

1.                  SIN. The term "sin" is one of the most common Bible words describing the fallen condition of man.

2.                  All men have sinned (1 Ki. 8:46; Ec. 7:20; Ro. 3:23; 5:12).

3.                  Man's sin began with Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden (Ge. 3; Ro. 5:12).

4.                  The penalty of sin is death (Ro. 6:23).

5.                  The forgiveness of sin requires the shedding of blood (He. 9:22).

6.                  Jesus Christ paid the full penalty for sin when He died and shed His blood on the cross (Ep. 1:7; He. 1:3; Ro. 5:9-10). Is. 53 describes how Jesus bore man's sin.

7.                  Man receives complete and eternal forgiveness for sin by exercising personal faith in Jesus Christ (Ro. 6:23; Ep. 5:5-6; Eze. 18:4).

IV.           YOU SHOULD KNOW WHERE YOU ARE GOING TO GO WHEN YOU DIE. HEB. 9.27
