1 Timothy 4:1-3 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

2 Timothy 3:1-5 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Luke 18:8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

We get ready for a lot of things:

School – work – church – Dr. appt. – Dentist – vacations – tests – exams. There are preparations involved in getting ready for anything.

JESUS CHRIST IS COMING SOON.

I. THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST IS SPECIFIC. 1 THES. 4.13-15

A. It is only for the SAVED.

B. The dead IN CHRIST go first

C. Then the living go.

D. You MUST be saved.

1. John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

2. John 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

E. You must be part of the family of God.

II. THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST IS SUPERNATURAL. 1 THES. 4.16

A. Christ Himself is coming.

III. THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST IS A SURPRISE.

A. The announcement was made 2000 years ago that He was coming. We just don’t know when.

B. That is why we need to be prepared and ready at all times.

2. 1 Thes. 5.1-10

IV. THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST WILL BE SUDDEN.

A. Before you know what has happened, you will be in the air with Christ.

1. 1 Cor. 15.52

V. THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST WILL BE ON SCHEDULE.

A. God, and only God, knows the date and the time when He is sending His Son for us.

VI. THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST WILL BE SPECIAL.

A. Christ is coming to take us out of this sin sick world.

B. He is coming to give us a new body.

C. He is coming to unite us with others.
